The book was preserved and transmitted by the closest companions of the Imams. Its famous chain of narrators (sanad) goes back to the 5th Imam, Muhammad al-Baqir (AS), and the immortal martyr Zayd ibn Ali (AS), ensuring its authenticity. This high level of verification has led to dozens of scholarly commentaries written about it over the centuries. The great bibliographer Aqa Buzurg Tihrani, in his seminal work Al-Dhari'a , mentions around 50 different commentaries written on the Sahifa, with one of the most famous being Riyad al-Salikin by Sayyid Ali Khan al-Shirazi.
