The story begins as a celebration. It's Fred Jones's birthday, and to mark the occasion, his parents, Skip and Peggy Jones, gift the entire Mystery Inc. gang with a cruise on a luxurious liner. However, this is no ordinary pleasure trip. The ship's excitable and quirky cruise director, Sunny St. Cloud, has orchestrated a series of staged "mysteries" for the entertainment of the guests.
