In recent years, Ishihara has expanded her professional horizons, making appearances in mainstream Japanese media, including television dramas and variety shows. Her crossover appeal and willingness to experiment with different genres and formats have introduced her to new audiences and solidified her status as a cultural icon.
Born in 1992 in the historic city of Kyoto, was not raised on J-Pop radio hits. Instead, her childhood soundtrack was the ambient noise of Kiyomizu-dera’s waterfalls and her grandmother’s collection of Enka records.
