The magic of the "Beach Party Mummy" script lies in its contrasting character archetypes:
(As the friends argue, Jimmy suddenly gets an idea.)
In the small town of Retroville, Jimmy Neutron (a genius boy inventor) is busy in his lab trying to revive his friend Carl's beloved dead goldfish, Swimmy, with a new invention: the "Electro-Life" device. When the ray fails, Jimmy and his friends are forced to sit through a painfully boring 97-hour school documentary about Egyptian mummies. The tedium becomes too much for the genius, so he suggests a quick trip to Egypt to see real mummies. Ditching class, the gang piles into Jimmy's hover car and flies to the Egyptian desert. After getting lost, a sudden sandstorm reveals the entrance to the long-lost tomb of the 18-year-old Queen Hazabataslapya (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Libby Folfax). However, while exploring the dark burial chamber, Carl uses the Electro-Life as a makeshift flashlight, accidentally resurrecting three ancient mummies. Now, Jimmy and his friends must find a way to stop the shambling corpses before they become the latest additions to the queen's tomb. The episode ends with Libya's new hairstyle, a surprising twist concerning Carl's fish, and a complicated, funny moment between Jimmy and his rival/best friend Cindy.
