In the Control Panel, ensure is set to Category (top right), then click on User Accounts (or "Change account type" under User Accounts). Click on User Accounts again. Click the link that says Manage another account . Select the local account you want to rename. Click Change the account name . Type the new name for the account. Click the Change Name button.
