Open your built-in camera app (Camera app on Windows or FaceTime on Mac) to verify the feed. Method 2: Update via Windows Device Manager
Before we jump into troubleshooting, it is essential to understand what a driver actually does. A driver is a low-level software program that acts as a translator between your webcam’s hardware and your computer’s operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Without the correct N5 webcam driver, your computer may recognize that a USB device is plugged in, but it won’t know how to turn the camera’s sensor data into a video stream for Zoom, Skype, or OBS.
Microsoft has bundled thousands of generic USB video drivers into Windows Update. For many users, you do not need to download anything manually.
Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera . Ensure that Camera access is toggled ON, and that the specific apps you want to use (like Zoom, Teams, or Chrome) are allowed to access it.
Click the Start button, type Device Manager , and press Enter.
